Escapes Made Easy

About Fiber Trails Retreats

Some getaways ask you to choose: relax or stay active, beginner or expert, structured or spontaneous. We don't think you should have to pick a lane.

Fiber Trails Retreats brings fiber artists of every skill level together for trips built around two things: creating, and connecting with people who get it. We take care of the logistics, the setting, and the structure, so all you have to do is show up and step outside your everyday life — whether that means a quiet weekend with a project in your lap, or something a little more adventurous. Some trips are for slowing all the way down. Others are for shaking things up. Either way, you'll leave with more than a finished project — you'll leave having actually connected with the people around you.

That's the world we're building toward: one where that kind of escape — real rest, real creativity, real connection — isn't a rare luxury. It's something we make the time, the space, and the place for, again and again.

A Note from the Founder

I’m Michelle and I've been crocheting for over 25 years, and picked up knitting seriously about three years ago. Fiber arts is one of the two things I love most — right alongside travel.

For over 30 years, my career was in leadership development, planning and running programs for large groups of people all over the world. I've spent my whole working life teaching, in one form or another, and these days you'll usually find me leading classes at Weave & Wander Yarn Shop, my yarn store in Seal Beach, CA.

Along the way, I've done a lot of traveling — for work, and for the pure joy of it. And when I think back on my favorite trips, the ones that really stuck with me, they almost always have one thing in common: I wasn't alone. I was with a group of people who shared the same interest, working toward the same goal — and that shared focus made the whole experience deeper.

So I asked myself a pretty simple question: why not put my two favorite things together? That's really how Fiber Trails Retreats was born.

Right now, it's just me behind Fiber Trails Retreats — planning every trip myself, the same way I've spent decades planning programs for others. But whether you've been at this craft for decades, like me, or you're just getting started, there's a place for you here.

I hope you'll come find it.
